Intended for firearm owners who want to learn the basic skills past their competency assessment, this course emphasises repetition and deliberate practice to develop correct shooting habits from the start.
Each session follows a consistent structure: safety briefing, dry fire drills to establish technique, live fire exercises to reinforce muscle memory, and maintenance instruction. Students will receive individual coaching and correction throughout.
By course completion, students will be able to demonstrate:
- Consistent adherence to all four safety rules without prompting
- Correct unloading and clear verification procedure
- Consistent grip establishment without adjustment after presentation
- Stable, balanced stance that manages recoil effectively
- Accurate first shots with called shot placement
- Trigger press that doesn’t disturb sight alignment
- Ability to field strip, clean, and reassemble their firearm independently
- Basic malfunction recognition and safe response
- All rounds within a 15cm group at 7 metres under slow fire conditions
