This course builds upon the skills developed in Basic and Intermediate Firearms Proficiency, then combines them with trauma care in realistic scenarios that demand you think, shoot, move, and treat – often simultaneously.
Defensive firearms proficiency isn’t complete until you can integrate shooting skills with medical response, decision-making under stress, and the practical realities of low-light encounters, close-quarters threats, and protecting those you love.
Through progressively complex exercises, you’ll develop the ability to shoot effectively in challenging conditions, recognise when the fight is over, and transition immediately to lifesaving care for yourself or others. The course produces well-rounded defensive practitioners who understand that winning a gunfight means nothing if you or your loved ones bleed out afterward.
By course completion, students will be able to demonstrate:
- Draw from concealment to first hit in under 2 seconds at 7 metres
- 90% accuracy on 10cm target at 7 metres under time pressure
- Effective flashlight technique with positive target identification
- Reliable retention shooting at contact distance
- Smooth self-treatment (tourniquet in under 30 seconds one-handed)
- Effective casualty treatment while maintaining tactical awareness
- Competent vehicle exit and engagement
- Clear communication when working with others
- Sound decision-making under stress with competing demands
